I was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. My family packed up and moved to Mesa, Arizona in August of 1985. Talk about one hell of a change! I will never forget that first heat wave when we arrived in the valley and opened the car doors for the first time. After high school I joined the Air Force as an F-16 Avionics technician with a goal of seeing the world. I went to basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. Then attended tech school at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas. After completing tech school I got stationed at Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ. That is where I was stationed for the rest of my enlistment. Needless to say I didn’t achieve my goal of seeing the world. I ended up landing a job in the wireless telecom industry and have spent the last 15 years working with some of the greatest coworkers (now friends) that anyone could wish for. Due to some needed changes at my last job I know have an opportunity to go on an adventure of a lifetime to help me decide what I want the next chapter of my life to look like. If you haven’t figured it out yet. I will be spending ~6 months on the Appalachian Trail traversing a 2200 mile footpath from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Katahdin Mt. in Maine.
